DESCRIPTION:Sept 7\,8\,9 – Courtenay Airpark\, BC\nWith the help of our friends and colleagues\, Airspeed High Ultralight Flight School\, is\nhosting the 2nd annual West Coast Challenger and Ultralight Fly-in. The event is\nscheduled for the weekend of September 7-9\, 2018\, at the Courtenay Airpark\, located\nin the heart of the beautiful Comox Valley. The theme this year is Splash & Dash. We are planning a group lake hopping flight on Saturday for those flying in on amphibs. If you don’t have a float plane\, no worries\, we will have fun and interesting presentations to keep you in the flying mood. The weekend will start rolling on Friday evening with a meet & greet BBQ on the deck at the Flight School.There will be great food courtesy of local businesses and flying friends. This is an awesome opportunity to chat with experienced ultralight pilots and\, if you’re lucky\, hear some good flying stories too!\nChallenger demo flights will be available\, Saturday and Sunday\, weather permitting\,\nand should be booked at time of registration. SUMMARY:(Stanstead/Weller) CTQ2 Annual Fly-In
DESCRIPTION:Sunday September 9\, CTQ2 will host our famous annual fly in with all the sweet corn you can eat and Beefalo burgers and other organic produce from our garden and orchard.  Meal $15.  CTQ2 has a very smooth  2\,600′ grass runway.  An air Inuit pilot said it felt just like it was paved.  Everyone assumes their own risk by deciding to fly in.  There are usually 20 to 50 airplanes of all sorts attending\, all the way from a little Hummelbird to a big turboprop to acrobatic planes and homebuilts.  We removed the small woods and long hill ridge to the East of the runway last  year\, so it seems there are possibly two parallel runways for about 1\,500 feet.  Our U-Pick garden and orchard are now open with Bodacious sweet corn\, our own yellow potatoes good prepared any way you like\, several sorts of tomatoes\, broccoli\, cauliflower\, melons\, tomatillos\,  fennel. peppers\, and more.  In the orchard are several kinds of pears\, and disease resistant apples.   We already have some planes flying in to pick fresh garden produce\, and of course many drive in.  The orchard is mowed and some have used it as a picnic spot.
